Murder of Babies

Written by Wayne Robbins on 11/14/23

The word abortion is never found in the King James Version of the Bible. If you are going to speak where the Bible speaks, then how do you justify calling abortion sin when the Bible does not even mention the word?

The Oxford dictionary has this definition for abortion: “the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.” The National Library of Medicine.gov has this information on their website: “The survival rate is about 40% for all babies born at 24 weeks' gestation, 50% for those born at 25 weeks, 60% for those born at 26 weeks, 70% for those born at 27 weeks, and 80% for those born at 28 weeks.”

From the very definition of abortion and the statistics, it is clear that an abortion is the ending of human life. We will show that the child in the mother's womb is called a baby by God. We will show that this child in the mother's womb is innocent in the sight of God. When an innocent life is taken, the Bible does not call it abortion, the Bible calls it murder. Murder, by any other name, is still murder.

What does God call us when we are in our mother's womb?

Luke 1:41, 44 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb… (44) For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Notice that God's word refers to us as a babe inside of our mother's womb, not a blob or lifeless mass of tissue, as some would try to have us believe. When you purposefully terminate the life of the innocent baby inside the womb, you have committed murder.

We see in the Bible that even a stillborn is called a child. Job 3:16 Or why was I not hidden like a stillborn child, Like infants who never saw light? When a child dies in the womb, whether by natural causes or by murder, they are still considered to be a child. We must not let the abortion clinics get away with calling a child anything less than what God has called him or her. The mother has a living human being in her body that God is forming and fashioning in His own image. Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;

God is responsible for our development in the mother's womb.

The power of God is what forms the baby in the mother's womb, (Isaiah 43:1, 44:2,24, 64:8). Psalms 139:13-16 “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. (14) I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. (15) My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. (16) Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.” When we take innocent human life, which is the work of God's hands, and we destroy it, we have committed murder.

God creates each one of us so that He can use us for His good pleasure (Ge 25:21-23). Isaiah 49:1, 5 "Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar! The LORD has called Me from the womb; From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name. (5) "And now the LORD says, Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, …”. Who are we as “the created” to think that it is okay for us to destroy an innocent human life that God has created for Himself? Jeremiah 1:4-5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: (5) "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." If Jeremiah's mother would have murdered him in the womb, God would still accomplish His will by raising up another prophet. How sad it would have been if Jeremiah would have missed out on this incredible opportunity to grow up and serve the Living God here on Earth; simply because of the selfish actions of others. I do not want to say, “because of the selfish actions of the mother only” because sometimes mothers are coerced to murder their children by the selfish actions of the dad, parents, or others who have a strong influence in their life. Ultimately, the child in the womb is murdered because of someone's selfishness. Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. What if this Christian principle was applied to the baby in the womb, as it should be?

Murder is the shedding of innocent blood and it is sinful.

When Noah and his family got off the ark, God gave this warning. Genesis 9:6 "Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man. God is our creator. When a child is purposefully pulled from the mother's womb and destroyed, blood has been shed. God will not hold that person innocent who has destroyed the life that He created.

Under the law of Moses, it was made clear that the baby in the mother's womb was considered valuable and precious in the sight of God. Exodus 21:22-23 "If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman's husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. (23) But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life”. Notice that if someone caused death to the baby in the mother's womb, that person was to be put to death. God would authorize people to be put to death because of their guilt. Whenever one kills someone who is innocent, such as the child in the mother's womb, it is then considered murder. Not everyone who is put to death is murdered, but every time an innocent person is put to death, it is always murder. Proverbs 6:16-17 “These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood,...”.

The baby in the mother's womb is innocent.

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. The little baby in the womb does not know the law, therefore he or she has not committed lawlessness and is innocent. Matthew 18:3-5 “and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. (4) Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (5) Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.” Jesus loves the little children, so please choose life and not murder. The baby is being formed by God and deserves the chance to come into this world and do the great things that God has formed him or her to do.

This whole issue could be resolved by following one simple teaching of Jesus Christ. Matthew 7:12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Do you want someone murdering you? Please stop murdering the unborn children.

If you are pregnant, You Can Do This!

If you are pregnant, please know that this child inside of you is a true blessing from God. Psalms 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. The circumstances by which you became pregnant may not be ideal, but that does not cancel out the blessing this child will bring to the world. My mother was pregnant with me when she was young and in high school. She had people in her life that were trying to influence her to have an abortion / murder me. She was living at home and scared to tell her parents, who were not financially wealthy. She made the decision to bring me into this world and I am very thankful. I hope to do great things for my God who loves me and formed me in my mother's womb. If you are pregnant, know that you can do this! Know that God wants you to have the baby that He is forming in your womb. Know that you can trust that He will give you the strength to make it through this pregnancy. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

If you need help during your pregnancy, or if you are unable to keep the baby after you bring him or her into this world, here is a number that you can call for help. 830-303-2151 southtexaspregnancycarecenter.com

If you have already made a decision that you now regret, there is always hope. 1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. Our Creator is very loving and forgiving. There is no sin so horrible that He cannot forgive as long as you are willing to turn your life over to Him. Romans 6:5-8 “ For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, (6) knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. (7) For he who has died has been freed from sin. (8) Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him”
